Boston—The Media Hub
If you are interested in a career in media, communications or advocacy there is no better place to be than Boston. The city is your classroom—and your newsroom. Explore opportunities and co-ops with the Pulitzer-Prize winning Boston Globe and the Boston Herald, nationally acclaimed NPR stations WGBH and WBUR, and local award-winning television stations. Report on Boston’s neighborhoods and social justice issues with our on-line publication, “The Scope.” Take an internship at the New York Times, Washington Post, Buzzfeed, Huffington Post, CNN or CNBC. Students have won local Emmy awards and even been part of Pulitzer-prize nominated teams. These experiences and connections are invaluable when it comes time to land that first job after graduation.
If you are interested in politics, advocacy or communications we offer co-ops and internships with candidates and advocacy groups and with leading corporate and non-profit communications firms.
Internationally, join a summer Dialogue of Civilizations where you will report on the culture, politics and life of countries around the world under the guidance of our writing and television faculty. Students have travelled to Cuba, Spain and Greece. Their articles and TV segments have appeared in The Washington Post, The Boston Globe, WCVB-TV, and on WGBH.
